We’re Back! SCORE Association was on a bit of a holiday, but we’re back and better than ever!

The SCORE Association, known as Counselors to America’s Small Business, is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. Founded in 1964, SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S.Small Business Administration.

SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Local chapters provide free counseling and low-cost workshops in their communities. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate their time and expertise as business counselors.

All About Heating and Air Systems

Most people take heating and cooling for granted. They expect their heating systems to keep them warm during the winter and depend on air-conditioning to keep them cool during summer. The idea of heating and cooling a home directs to energy and money efficiency. As heating becomes more efficient, and so does the cooling systems, and the less cost it requires to run. This lowers the utility bills. Before investing in a new system, it’s better to know how energy efficient a model is compared to others of the same kind. In case you need to increase your system’s efficiency but can’t replace it in the market, home energy assessment or using a professional is advisable. Climate-control systems or devices have three components: a way of distributing air to the spaces being heated or cooled, a source of warmed or cooled air and control used as a system regulator. Warm air sources such as a furnace, and cool air such as an air conditioner, often use the same control and distribution systems. A house that has a central air conditioning, cool air flows through the same ducts that heat does and the same thermostat is used as a regulator. Heating and air conditioning tend to use the principle that heat moves faster from a warm object to a cool one, simply like how water flows from a higher level to a lower. Heaters and furnaces emit heat into the air and help warm the house. On the other hand, air conditioners remove the heat to cool the house. Air conditioners use electricity, but heating and cooling units burn fuel. Several heating systems use fuel or gas oil; others use electricity. An electrically powered climate control unit, the heat pump, heats and also cools the air. At summer time, it extracts heat from the air. During winter, the pump pulls heat from the outside air and uses it to warm the inside air.
